5 Useful Linux Help Commands

1. apropos:

If you don’t remember the command that you need, you can type a keyword with “apropos” about what you want to do. Then, all commands related to the keyword will be displayed.

2. man:

Display the manual page of a given command.

3. info:

Reads documentation and gives more detailed information about a command then man pages do. “info” also allows navigation and links between pages.

4. whatis:

Display short manual page descriptions.

5. — help :

Displays summaries of built-in commands.
